Manish Mammen, MD

Manish Mammen, MD, is an interventional physiatrist that specializes in providing comprehensive care for those in musculoskeletal pain from both degenerative and acute injuries. He sees patients at Ascend Regenerative Medicine, located in Manhasset, New York. 

Dr. Mammen attended SUNY Downstate Medical Center and pursued advanced postgraduate training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation serving as Chief Resident during his final year. During his training, he also served as the assistant team physician to SUNY Maritime, a NCAA Division III college, as well as a number of local high schools and participated in sideline coverage during athletic events. He then went to complete fellowship training at the Center for Advanced Pain Management and Rehabilitation affiliated with New Jersey Medical School/Rutgers University.

Upon completion of his training, he joined an orthopedic and sports medicine practice in Columbus Circle, Manhattan. He served as a clinical instructor with the prestigious NYU Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine and was involved in teaching NYU Resident Physicians in outpatient clinics. He later joined Northwell Health and continued to participate in Resident education serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and fellowship trained in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine. He emphasizes avoiding dependence on pharmaceuticals to control pain and believes that lifestyle modification, exercise, and stress reduction are all vital to healing.

He uses both fluoroscopy and ultrasound to treat various conditions that can cause debilitating pain. He specializes in the treatment of back and neck pain caused by Arthritis, Degenerative Disc Disease, Spinal Stenosis, and pain following spine surgery. He offers a variety of treatment options that are available to help eliminate pain including epidurals, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation, MLS Robotic Class IV Laser Therapy, and the latest minimally invasive spine procedures. He also treats peripheral joint, tendon, and nerve-related pain.

He believes in keeping an open mind to all treatment options and welcomes feedback and dialogue with other practitioners for ensuring continuity of care. He is constantly educating himself and learning about the latest and cutting-edge treatment options for his patients so that they have the best chance of success. His goal is to give patients the highest quality of medical care so that they can live their best life.
