Many of our patients who experience neck pain or stiffness is typically caused by poor posture or overuse.
Neck pain can be caused by:
- injury from a fall,
- contact sports
- whiplash.
There are two types of neck pain most patients go through which are acute and chronic neck pains. Acute neck pain usually starts as an immediate response to an acute injury, such as a neck strain or a sports injury. It typically lasts less than 4 weeks. A chronic neck pain commonly starts gradually and may or may not have an identifiable underlying cause. Pain is usually considered chronic once it has lasted at least 3 months.
If your neck pain doesn’t improve after a week of low activity combined with anti-inflammatory medication, we advised to make an appointment and let our doctors take a look. Here at Ascend Regenerative Medicine, we understand your pain as well as provide non surgical treatments to help you be pain free!
